Embellished Events

Good Evening Sminkers

While I eagerly await the arrival of my pre order, I thought I would share some of my past creations I haven't yet posted. I'll start with the class I ran last month where we focused on one of my favourite stamp sets called Embellished Events.

This stamp set is so versatile and therefore great for anyone who is just starting their stamping journey as it is able to cater for many occasions like birthdays, Christmas, weddings, and new babies to name a few. With both images and sentiments included, the only other supplies you need would be some inkpads or Stampin' Write markers plus some cardstock and you can whip up a card in no time.
This first card I fell in love with the moment I saw it in the current Annual Catalogue then after seeing this colour combo by Dawn Olchefske during a Google search I knew I had to CASE it. I made a few slight changes with the size of the matting plus the position of the sentiment and was really happy with the way it turned out...the In Colour Dahlias just finish it off perfectly! Then I set about creating another version this time using the flower shaped buttons from the Brights Designer Buttons to show how it can be adapted to use buttons. It would also look just as lovely using markers to create different coloured flowers if you didn't want to use the dahlias or buttons.

The little flower pot is made using the 1 3/8 inch square punch, word window punch and Crumb Cake cardstock. I took the square, went a couple of millimetres in at the bottom and cut on an angle to the top corner. I did this on both sides, snipped the curved bits off the word window and then adhered that to the top of the pot with some Snail. I stamped the image in Gumball Green onto Whisper White cardstock and then adhered the pot to the base of the image. Add your In Colour Dahlias or flower buttons and rhinestones and that's pretty much it. I added a linen thread bow to the pot and then applied it to the rest of the card. So simple!! Can you see what I mean about being versatile? Leave a comment below and let me know which is you favourite. I can't decide, I think I love them both.

The next card was also super simple and was CASED from Mary Fish who made it in Primrose Petals from memory. I just changed it to one of my favourite colours at the moment, Midnight Muse and also altered the sentiment from a banner to the Modern Label punch and Word Window punch. It's just perfect for any celebratory occasion where a Congratulations is in order. The glasses were stamped in Sahara Sand ink, one directly onto the Whisper White Cardstock and the other onto a scrap piece. I then fussy cut the one on the scrap piece and layered it slightly over the other glass and popped it up on some Dimensionals. Add the rhinestones, ribbon and adhere to the card base you are done.

Now the next card did create a little concern for me as it was only May when we did the class and I wasn't sure if I should include a Christmas card this early in the year but I wanted to showcase as much of the Embellished Events stamp set as I could. In the end I thought the ladies would appreciate having one Christmas card ready to go and went ahead. I think it turned out great and is simple enough to create a large amount of should you need to.
Now we are always in need of birthday cards and I set about designing a nice bright, cheery one using some of the Floral District Designer Series Paper (DSP). I incorporated the colours of the DSP into the stamped image by using the Stampin' Write Markers and applied them direct to the stamp. I then gave it a bit of a huff to remoisten the ink and stamped it onto Whisper White cardstock. It turned out way better than I expected. What do you think?

Speaking of birthdays I have something in the pipeline I will be announcing at my Annual Catalogue Launch on the 6th July. If you would like to come along for an afternoon of inky fun and games, see and play with new products plus enjoy some yummy refreshments then contact me and I will forward you all the details. If you can't make it be sure to check back after the Launch Party to find out what's happening and join in the excitement.

Well back to cards. The lucky last one I have to show you is a baby card. Now this one has everything I love at the moment, pink and green colour scheme (Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery) and of course banners. I'm just mad about them and use them whenever I can.

I created this card using the Stampin' Write markers once again (Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake) to ink up the little duck. I stamped this onto Whisper White cardstock then inked up the sentiment which I got from the Sweet Essentials stamp set in Certainly Celery and stamped it below the image. The banners were cut out of some scrap cardstock and DSP using the Bitty Banners Framelits. I love it when I can use up some scraps...good for the environment and my ever growing scrap pile. I also used the Lacy Brocade embossing folder on the Pink Pirouette cardstock which will be retiring soon. I'll be sad to see this folder go, it's so beautiful. If you would like to get one before they go or anything else I have shown you just head over to my online store.

I hope I have given you some ideas and inspiration for using this set if you already have it in your stash or at least made you want to go out and buy it :) Have a great week!
